CIMIS rainfall data compared to Mt. Democrat rainfall data
The
CIMIS #13 data
has been collected since 1982 in the Camino/Fruitridge area .
The
Mountain Democrat
has been reporting rainfall data since 1873 collected from a site off Missouri
Flat Road at the current PG&E facility. The PG&E site is at ~1,800' while
CIMIS #13 is at 2,780'. These sites are seperated by little over six
miles. The graph below compares the yearly totals since 1983 by
subtracting the Mountain Democrat total from the CIMIS #13 total. The
CIMIS station averages 1.77 inches of rain more per year than the Mountain
Democrat site. The bottom graph shows the rainfall totals since 1873. Remember, the rainfall year in California runs from July 1 through June 31.
